Meet your Instructor
Hi, I’m Nathan Lowe, a Vedic Meditation teacher, parent, grandparent, surfer and part-time bus driver, based on North Stradbroke Island (Minjerribah), just off the coast of Brisbane.
ABOUT NATHANBefore teaching meditation, I spent 25 years working in construction, along with chapters of my life as a chef, professional gardener and bus driver. I’ve lived a pretty full and varied life, but at 50, despite everything I had built, I found myself feeling lost and deeply unfulfilled.
About 20 years ago, life changed dramatically when I suddenly became a full-time single parent to three teenage daughters while also running my construction business. The responsibility was enormous. Anxiety, depression and stress became a daily reality, and I found myself self-medicating just to get through.
I knew I needed some tools to help me navigate life, and I needed them fast.
For years, I explored different meditation techniques, practices and modalities, searching for a way to understand myself better and feel good again. They helped, and I was managing—but only just.
Eventually, my daughters grew up and left home. I left the construction industry and spent some time travelling. When I returned, I was confronted with a question I hadn't expected…

I had stripped away the identities that had defined me for so long—the tradesman, the business owner, the sole parent. Beneath all of that, I was still struggling with anxiety and depression, and I realised I needed to look more deeply at what it meant to live a meaningful and fulfilling life.
Then I discovered Vedic Meditation.
I began practising twice a day, diligently and consistently. And something started to shift.
The addictive tendencies that had been such a part of my life began to fall away. I started feeling genuinely good and happy for no particular reason. My mind became clearer. Creativity returned. I felt more energy, more ease and, most importantly, a sense of inner fulfilment that I had been searching for for years.
It wasn't another technique to add to the list. It was the missing piece.

For the first time, I experienced meditation not as an escape from life, but as a way of engaging with life more fully.
I realised very quickly that this was something I wanted to share with others. What began as a personal search had become a new sense of purpose.
I went on to undertake four years of study, practice and teacher training in the Vedic tradition, eventually becoming a Vedic Meditation teacher.
I understand what it's like to feel overwhelmed. To lose your sense of direction. To wonder who you are when the roles you've built your life around begin to change.
Vedic Meditation gave me a practical way forward, and teaching it has become my life's work.
Today, I share this practice with people who, like me, want to feel better, think more clearly and experience more energy, creativity and ease in their everyday lives.
When I'm not teaching, you'll usually find me surfing, growing food in the garden, cooking up something in the kitchen, spending time with family and friends, or enjoying one of my favourite roles of all—being a granddad.
Experience less stress, better sleep, more energy and greater clarity through a simple meditation technique that anyone can learn.
No concentration. No trying to stop your thoughts. Just a practical tool for navigating modern life with more ease and enjoyment.
